SAKURAI KOKESHI are carved from wood with a traditional method, in which the head and body are shaped separately and then joined together skillfully while spinning. Each Kokeshi is hand-painted, so every piece is one of a kind. The faces reflect that of a child, and the body traditionally features some form of chrysanthemum, which is an auspicious symbol.
